KINGS OF PERSIS. Baydād (Bagadat), late 3rd or early 2nd century BC. Drachm (Subaeratus, 20 mm, 3.59 g, 8 h). Head of Baydād to right, with short beard, mustache, and earring, wearing kyrbasia with flaps tied behind. Rev. Fire-temple of Ahura-Mazda; above, half-figure of Ahura-Mazda to left; to left, King standing right, his hands raised in adoration; to right, standard. Cf. Alram 516 and Sunrise 561 (for prototype). An interesting contemporary plated imitation of curious style. Minor breaks in plating, otherwise, very fine.
